And welcome to The Cookbook Lady!
I have loved cookbooks all my life. I can’t remember when I started reading them, but once I started I was hooked.
Cookbooks really “hit you where you live,” to quote Laurie Colwin (a lot more about my favorite writer ever later). Cookbooks are history. They are family. They can be a comfort and a solace and a place to make sense of the world. Cookbooks record where we are as a country, they help us remember our past and ethnicity, and can communicate to the world who we are.
What could be better?
So join me as I review cookbooks, both old and new, and sample some recipes I have made that these books inspired.
